Arsene Wenger says 'no' to Sami Nasri

Arsene Wenger has sensationally revealed that want-away midfielder Sami Nasri will be staying at Arsenal for next season, saying that the club don't have to sell, and won't.

The Frenchman has been a target for both Manchester United and Chelsea, who are both trying to reinvigorate their midfields following Paul Scholes' retirement and Frank Lampard's crippling injury problems, but Wenger refuses to let his young star go. With Cesc Fabregas seemingly already out the door this will quell Gunners fans' fears of an exodus.

'Samir's situation is clear for me - he stays,' Wenger said. 'I've told you that we are in a position where we can say 'no'. And we will.

'Imagine the worst situation - we lose Fabregas and Nasri. You cannot convince people you are ambitious after that. You cannot pretend you are a big club.

'A big club holds onto its big players and gives a message out to all the other big clubs that they just cannot come in and take [players] away from you.

'We worked very hard with these players for years to develop them and now it's time for us to keep them together.'
