Arsene Wenger and his band of overpaid footballers gave Celtic a good spanking last night (Aug 26th) in the 2nd leg of the Champions League.
The clash, held at the Emirates, was kick started by a contentious 25th minute penalty awarded to Arsenal after Celtic’s keeper Artur Borus brought down Eduardo in the box who then comfortably slotted home. With the pint-sized Andrey Arshavin and alliterated Emmanuel Eboue also knocking one into the back of the net, Celtic never had a chance of over turning the 2-0 deficit from their 1st leg tie.
It wasn’t a completely wasted trip to London for the green hoops thanks to a lucky Donati extra-time consolation goal though. The match finished 3-1 on the night and 5-1 on aggregate to Arsenal.
Celtic now have a mouth-watering trip to Hibernian on Sunday and Arsenal await the outcome of the Champions League draw today (Aug 27th).
