Arsenal sign Samir Nasri from Marseille
Arsenal have completed the signing of French midfielder Samir Nasri on a long-term contract. The 21-year-old has joined the London club from Marseille for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £12m.
Nasri, who has long been a target for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, is set to join his new teammates on July 21 for the Gunners pre-sesaon tour of Austria. Wenger said he was delighted to have signed Nasri, describing him as a quick and technically outstanding player.
The signing of the Frenchman is the latest step in Wenger's rebuilding process at Arsenal following the departure of Matthieu Flamini. With Alexander Hleb and Emmanuel Adebayor also set to leave the North London club, Wenger has again put his faith in signing a young player full of potential.
