Arsenal planning to spend big in January
Arsenal are set to spend big in the January transfer window according to reports in the English press. Arsene Wenger has admitted that he needs to strengthen his squad after Cesc Fabregas was ruled out for up to four months.
The Gunners are said to be targeting Russian playmaker Andrei Arshavin and Manchester City's Michael Johnson to fill the gap left by Fabregas, Tomas Rosicky and Theo Walcott.
Alexander Hleb, Mathieu Flamini, Gilberto and Lassana Diarra have all left the Emirates in the last twelve months and Wenger has failed to fill the gap. Arsenal are also rumoured to be looking at Villareal defensive midfielder Marcos Senna as well as Barcelona's Yaya Toure to strengthen their threadbare squad.
