Arsenal lose 2-1 to Porto

Arsenal lost 2-1 away to Porto in their Champions League knock out stages first leg at the Estadio do Dragao.

Hampered by injury to a number of key players at the back the Gunners defence looked nervous and a howler from Lukasz Fabianski handed Porto the initiative.

The young Polish keeper misjudged a low cross from Varela and diverted the ball into his own net. Sol Campbell got Arsenal back on level terms midway through the first half with a powerful header.

However, Fabianski was once again at fault for Porto's second goal. The keeper picked up a back pass from Campbell and while the Arsenal players argued Ruben Micael took a quick free-kick to Falcao who scored into an empty net.

Despite the result Arsenal will still be confident of getting a result at The Emirates in two weeks time.
