Arsenal in talks with Arshavin over move to Emirates
Arsenal are reported to be in talks with Zenit St Petersburg about the transfer of Russian playmaker Andrei Arshavin. The 27-year-old star of Euro 2008 had been linked to Tottenham during the summer but now looks Emirates bound.
The Gunners are believed to have made an offer in the region of £20m for Arshavin and Zenit manager Dick Advocat confirmed that the striker is set to leave the Uefa Cup holders: "I am aware that Arsenal are interested but I don't know any more than that. However, I am expecting Arshavin to leave Zenit for another club."
Advocat underlined Arshavin's potential to be a success in the Premier League: "He is a top player and he could play for any team and any of the top teams in England, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea or Liverpool."
