Arsenal hammer Wolves 4-1

Arsenal moved up into second place in the Premier League last night with a 4-1 hammering of Wolves at Molineux. Despite making life difficult for the Gunners in the opening minutes the home side imploded midway through the first half.

Mick McCarthy watched in frustration on the sideline as his team scored two own goals in the space of seven minutes to hand the points to Arsenal. First Ronald Zubar and then Jody Craddock inadvertently diverted the ball past Wayne Hennessey in the Wolves goal.

Having scored an unbelievable 25 goals in their last eight league games, it looked as if the floodgates were set to open for the Gunners. Although they added just two further goals from Cesc Fabregas and Andrei Arshavin, Arsenal controlled the rest of the game with Craddock's late consolation goal the only blot on the Gunners' copybook.
