Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1 to throw title race open
Arsenal came from a goal down at Stamford Bridge this afternoon to beat Chelsea 2-1. The result throws the title race wide open and sees Arsene Wenger's team move back into the top four.
Chelsea went ahead midway through the first half when Johan Djourou steered Jose Bosingwa's low cross into his own net. But Arsenal hit back in the second half through Dutch striker Robin van Persie. He helped himself to a brace with two brilliant finishes.
The result puts serious question marks over Chelsea's title winning credentials. Luis Felipe Scolari's side had four central midfield players on the pitch and absolutely no width and no cutting edge. With pundits writing the Gunners off only last week, today's result will have gone a long way to silencing the critics.<
