Arsenal beat Bolton 1-0 at the Emirates

Arsenal beat Bolton 1-0 this afternoon at the Emirates thanks to a late Nicklas Bendtner goal. The Danish striker came off the bench to score his first goal since November and secure three vital points for his team.

The Gunners had struggled to breakdown a resolute Bolton side despite dominating possession. Robin van Persie went close to breaking the deadlock on 12 minutes when he fired over after some good approach work from Samir Nasri.

A lapse in concentration by Kolo Toure almost let Johan Elmander in for Bolton, but Johan Djourou was on hand to make a goal saving tackle. Arsenal looked to have lost the chance to move back into the top four until Bendtner popped up in the right place at the right time to volley home and win the game.
