Arsenal and Liverpool draw 1-1 at the Emirates
Liverpool moved two points ahead of Chelsea in the Premier League following a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates this afternoon. The result all but ends the Gunners' slim title hopes for this season.
Robin van Persie opened the scoring for Arsenal early in the first half with a brilliant turn and finish past Pepe Reina. But Liverpool equalised three minutes before the break through a stunning finish from the much maligned Robbie Keane.
Arsenal lost skipper Cesc Fabregas to injury at half time and things got even worse for Arsene Wenger's side before the end when Emanuel Adebayor was sent off for a second bookable offence. The red card seemed to inspire the Gunners to push for the win, but it was Liverpool who came closest to stealing the three points through Agger just before the end.
