Considering joining the Annaghdown Golf Society?

For all the keen golfers out there, this could be a great new way of improving your swing and making some new friends into the bargain. By joining the Annaghdown Golf Society, you could enhance your social life as well as picking up some golfing tips. The aim of the Annaghdown Golf Society is to promote and foster the game of golf amongst the society members as well as being affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland, and is therefore bound by the rules of that union. Membership is open to anyone over 18 years of age on the 31st March in the calendar year in which they apply to become members and needs to be renewed each year. Junior membership is open to anyone over 16 years of age on 1st January of the year of application. A membership fee is payable each year, and the society should be contacted directly for details of fees.

As well as holding competitions at home, the Annaghdown Golf Society also travels to neighbouring golf clubs and courses as day outings. Examples of golf courses visited are Cregmore, Loughrea, Mountbellew, Ballinrobe, Galway Bay and Barna. For the brave, there are also weekend trips away. This year's trip takes place on the weekend of 16th and 17th April to Westport; in Co Mayo and will include two nights in a B&B including one evening meal and two rounds of golf. Members are welcome to attend all or part of the trip.
