Andy Murray beats Federer in Madrid Masters
Andy Murray has beaten world No2 Roger Federer 3-6 6-3 7-5 in the semi-final of the Madrid Masters. The British No1 came from a set down to avenge last month's defeat to the same opponent in the US Open and will face Gilles Simon in tomorrow's final.
The Scot had won two of four previous meetings with Federer and managed to break the Swiss player's serve in the fourth game of the second set to level the match. Murray held his serve to win the final set to seal victory.
The 21-year-old Scot is hoping to pick up his second Masters Series title of the year after winning in Cincinnati back in August: "It's a Masters Series final; this is all kind of new to me, I've only been in one final before so I'll just try and enjoy it."
