Advantage Liverpool after their 1-1 draw with Arsenal

Arsenal and Liverpool played out 1-1 draw at The Emirates Stadium in last night's all English, even though there were only three English players on display, Champions League quarter-final. Adebayor scored for the Gunners while Dirk Kuyt got on the end of a Steven, yes he's actually English, Gerrard run and pass to secure an all important away goal for the Reds.

Liverpool were dogged in defence creating a wall of black shirts inside their own half. Arsenal attacked incessantly and the introduction of Walcott looked like it could change the game for the Gunners.

The young England international seemed to scare the beejaysus out of Carragher until Wenger decided to switch him to the right for some unknown reason. The ball is now in Liverpool's court as Arsenal will have to travel to Anfield and get at least a score draw.

Over in Istanbul Chelsea lost 2-1 to Fenerbache. The Blues should have put this tie to bed after going 1-0 thanks to a Deivid own goal and spurning a number of clear cut chances. Kazim-Richards came off the bench to score the equaliser for Fenerbache before Deivid atoned for his earlier error by blasting in an unstoppable drive from 30 yards to seal victory for the Turkish side.

While Chelsea secured an all important away goal to bring back to Stamford Bridge there has to be some question marks raised over Grant playing Ballack and Lampard in the middle with Essien being shunted out to right back. It seems like a total waste of a really good player.
