Adebayor earns Arsenal a draw with Villareal
Emmanuel Adebayor scored a brilliant second half goal to earn Arsenal a draw with Villareal in their Champions League quarter-final first leg. The Togo striker scored an amazing overhead volley to keep the Gunners in the tie with an all important away goal.
Arsenal were handed a double injury-blow in the first half with both keeper Manuel Almunia and centre-back William Gallas going off. To compound matters for Arsene Wenger's team they went a goal down through a Marcos screamer on ten minutes.
But the Gunners got back on level terms thanks to the combination of skipper Fabregas and the on fire Adebayor.
There seemed little danger when the Spaniard floated a long ball towards the Togo international, but Adebayor took it on his chest with his back to goal before firing home a pinpoint volley. Game on.
