A victory for football

It was a thrilling night of FA Cup football yesterday, with the replays form the first deciding potentially huge games for the two premier fan-started football clubs in the country: AFC Wimbledon and FC United of Manchester.

Wimbledon were racked with worry that they would have to face MK Dons, the club that stole Wimbledon’s identity, history and place in the league, while shifting them 70 miles north from their south London home to Milton Keynes, with most Wombles fans sick at the thought of having to play them. However Stevenage managed to beat Franchise FC 7-6 on penalties after drawing 1-1. A victory for football.

Elsewhere FC United of Manchester will play Brighton away after the Seagulls beat Woking away, against on penalties. The South Coast club beat the Surrey outfit 3-0 on pens after drawing 2-2 with them. A tasty second round looks to be on the cards.
