A little problem

Roberto Mancini has said that he only has 11 100 per cent fit players, with free-scoring Chelsea coming to the City of Manchester Stadium tomorrow lunchtime.

This far from ideal for the Manchester City, who have suffered from a stuttering start to the season, and who now only have three fully fit defenders to play against the Londoner’s deadly strike force, which has hit 25 goals without reply in the league. Micah Richards, Joleon Lescott and Jerome Boateng are all out, leaving Mancini with a problem.

‘Joleon has worked with us for one day. He is not ready to play 90 minutes,’ said Mancini. ‘Jérôme has been working with us for one week. He is not ready to play 100%. I do not know what I am going to do just yet. I will speak with Joleon and Jérôme, but if they are not available I am not sure. Maybe Boyata, but I am not sure.

‘I am disappointed we have all these injuries at the moment. I only have 11 players who are 100 per cent fit.’
