A Black(pool) day for Forest

Blackpool booked their place in the play-off final last night with a dramatic win at Nottingham Forest. Ian Holloway’s men ran out 4-3 winners at the City Ground, going through to the Wembley final 6-4 on aggregate, and gave themselves the chance to play top-flight football for the first time since 1971.

A hat-trick from troubled striker DJ Campbell sealed the win for the Seasiders, who scored three goals in seven minutes after Rob Earnshaw put Forest ahead on aggregate after 66 minutes.

‘I am very proud,' said Blackpool boos Holloway. 'We knew it would be tough and I didn't know if we would have the answers to the questions they asked. I said it would have to be the best we have ever played if we were to do it - and I think it was the best we have ever played.

‘We are still learning and still evolving but we have achieved something mega. We are within 90 minutes of playing in the Premier League and that is unbelievable.’
