Plan your 2011 Rugby World Cup viewing schedule

Armchair viewers will be looking forward to plenty of rugby action on their screens. Because of the time difference, they may have to make some slight adjustments to their body clocks, not to mention their work commitments. To help you plan ahead, we offered some tips on the 2011 Rugby World Cup viewing schedule.

To check on your team's fixtures in the pool stages, and kick-off times, go to the official Rugby World Cup 2011 site at www.rugbyworldcup.com. It has a handy function where you can adjust New Zealand time to UK time to get an idea of when the matches will start.

Scotland fans will be alarmed to see that their opening Pool B match against Romania, in the very Scottish-sounding town of Invercargill, starts at 2 in the morning on September 10 (it's a Saturday, so you have an excuse to stay up).

Other games in the pool featuring England and Scotland have breakfast-time kick-offs, with the showdown between the 2 sides in Auckland on October 1 starting at 8.30. That may be a particularly tense Saturday breakfast across the UK if the outcome is going to decide the qualifiers from the pool.

The earliest start for Ireland fans is the 6am wake-up call for the match against Russia in Rotorua on September 25. Wales fanatics have to be a little more dedicated ,with a 4.30 start against Samoa in Hamilton on September 18, and a 6am start against Fiji on October 2. There may be some bleary eyes in the valleys.
